The other side of the Text books recorded for AsSunnah Trust



A series of questions which have been addressed to me on various occasions have been listed here. Now it would be good to know both sides.

1Q:- When did you do the particular video which is circulated by NETH fm? Was it in June 2020?

A :- This was done in May 2019 almost a month after the April 21st Easter attacks. So it was not on June 2020


2.Q:- Why did you go with this to NETH FM ?
A :-No, we didn't go to NETH FM, rather they have been inviting various organisation's and personalities to discuss the most trending topics. They had contacted the ACJU and Naleemiya group but there was no response. So they contacted us and we responded to it. So those who are inquisitive to question me should question the same with ACJU & Jamia Naleemiya as well. So its always good to know both sides.

3.Q:- Why did you tell them that the books were edited by a Jamiya Naleemiya sided group?

A :-It was evident when I opened the book or when anyone else opened the book as the names were not hidden. The names were just there. It would mean the same if someone else had read these names. 

4.Q :- Was the Media the ultimate place to go? 
A :-NO, I had visited the ministries as in the education ministry and i even met the education minister on this, apart from that i have visited various other ministries too and then got this invitation. 


5.Q :- Was it so important to go the Media? 
A:- No we didn't go to the Media, They invited many people to their forums as any Media institutions. 

6.Q:- Then what happen? 
A :-As I said, Neth FM had got information of the Local Islam texts books and had called the ACJU and the Naleemiya to address this but they didn't. Meanwhile they invited me. 


7.Q:- How relevant was this to the time it was done? 
A :- This happen just after April 21st Easter attacks in which Muslims were cornered for supporting terrorism or silent about terrorism and extremism. As you know Muslims were attacked.. Media was showing Muslims to be someone who is silent on their extremism, which is not true. 

Muslims are not like this. Muslims are honest.. And they speak the truth and they stand up for the truth. So likewise this made a platform for communal people to feel and learn that Muslims also are ready to open like this for the love they had to the community. 

8.Q :- So why are you concerned about the text books? 
A :-Because young students at the age of 15-24 who just left School or who are in School or who enter University are inclining to join ISIS. Their fathers and Mothers and guardians have asked me to speak this up for schools and other entities to stop this, Because some 30 Muslim Boys and girls have joined ISIS and we should stop this behavior. 

Furthermore since the Macro environment as in Political, Geographical, Social-Cultural and Technological matters have changed drastically in the last few years & specially after the ISIS trying to take control on few areas, i feel our Islamic text books should change accordingly.


9.Q:- Your intention was to expose Jamiya Naleemiya? 
A :-No. I pointed out three things. 

1. The books were created by them only. 
2. The books show references to deviants. 
3. Next time when Jamiah Naleemiya does this, they should get a fair cross section of everyone to help them in the books, so that we can avoid such matters.


10.- Did Jamiya Naleemiya acknowledge this clip?
A :-Yes in many times as I got many calls and messages from people who were from the background of Naleemiya and I met some of them to explain the reasons of this interview. 

They agreed that I had a point and they agreed for an action plan. Since then i have been working to rectify these issues.


Q11. What happen after this clip? 
A :-Since they wanted to rectify this as I asked everyone to be part of the Syllabus such as Scholars, Intellects, Teachers and many others. 

We had a few meetings to rectify this and developments took place to change this and I believe that's what's happening 

Note :- Within the last 12 months the Islamic affairs ministry has been going through changers and they are positive to help us on this and I'm thankful to them and the Naleemiya members who came forward on this. I have met Naleemiya directors and others. This was not possible before as I was not be-fitted to discuss these previously  but now they have given me the importance to discuss these things & im happy to what discussions have been going on.

If anyone wants to know upon the update on this, i would say that things are progressing really well. The committee involved in restructuring this has looked at this as a constructive criticism inroder to make an error less text book for our students   

12.Q :- Any final remarks 

A :- Remarks for haters is that they should engage this topic in an intellectual manner by reading this and understanding this. This is not my duty but the duty of the ACJU which they have never looked into. However im happy about the progress and interest the ACJU has made to open discussions on this.

I'm doing this to stop students joining ISIS. If you want to support me.. Then do so. If you want your kids to join the ISIS terrorist group, then you can prove me wrong. 

Please be kind enough to engage this in a civil manner with me without bullying or trying to threaten me.

Finally its good to see that Parents, teachers, Students , Scholars and other professionals have taken this constructive criticism positively and i would appreciate the encouragement they have given us too.

Who is Hafiz Rilwan from Weligama

Let me introduce you to Hafiz Rilwan, from Weligama a city in down south of Sri Lanka. Following are some praiseworthy accomplishments which I believe are not something easy to think of. 1. He was the first Alim to lead Taraweeh on 27th night of Ramadhan by reciting the whole Quran single handed untill the time of Fajr!! (Took place at Dewatagaha Shaykh Usman Waliullah masjid in Colombo 7) 2. There were Six Huffaz kept to check for mistakes while he was leading the Full Quran tharaweeh as said above and none found no mistakes. 3. While conducting the above Taraweeh, He used to have Saline Water only. 4. He has a special talent of reciting the Quran from bottom to top which we can't do even for WAL ASRI SURA.(That was a light Joke ok.  😀 ).. 5.
